Dell Inspiron 1545 Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and iTunes 10.1 for Windows (64bit)

I have just bought a new laptop and downloaded iTunes 10.1 for Windows (64bit) but when I import a CD iTunes stops working and a message pops up "iTunes has stopped working - Windows can check online for a solution to the problem".  

Does anyone have a suggestion PLEASE?
