Dell Laptop Factory Reset

I have a Dell XPS. Last night it downloaded new drivers or something and crashed. The error code is 0146, message code 2000-0146. It will not start Windows at all. I have tried Cntrl F11, F8, F2, and F12. F11 does nothing at all. The rest do not have an option to factory reset. I have only the Windows Vista disc that came with the computer and the drivers Cd that came with the computer. Can anyone help me figure this out? I just need to get the computer running again.

You will first need to replace the faulty hard drive (the error means the hard drive has failed).  If you're under warranty, call Dell with the error and they'll ship you a replacement drive.

If you're out of warranty, you can use any 2.5" 9.5 mm SATA notebook drive you wish as a replacement.  Replace the drive, and then load Windows and install the drivers.
