Dell Mediadirect won’t play blu-ray movies unless Windows is running

I recently installed a Blu-Ray drive UJ-225S on my XPS M1530. I am able to play Blu-ray movies using dell mediadirect with the recent update patch 4.7. However I can only play blu-ray movies while windows vista is running.

If I boot my computer using the media button I can only play regular DVD but not blu-rays. I have to run windows in order to play blu-ray’s and the downside is that most movies are choppy due to the other applications that run in the background. I always have to shut down many applications in order to get decent playback. I also installed PowerDVD 9.0, but it’s still choppy.

Is there anyway to play blu-ray movies directly from Mediadirect startup?

3GB RAM

256MB gforce Video card
