Dell XPS M2010 Internal Speaker Problem

Yesterday i downloaded a recommended driver from the dell website, i believe it was a Creative Labs Driver. Now there is no sound coming out of the interla speakers, i've checked that they're not muted. When i go on the Sound option on the control panel, it shows that the Digital Output Device (SPDIF) is working, however it shows that the speakers are unplugged. I've tried updating and reinstalling the High Definition Audio Device driver, but the speakers still don't work. Any suggestions of what i can do?

I the operating software is Windows Vista Ultimate.

Unless you went from XP to Vista, the driver update is the wrong one.

Here is the driver-

Go to control panel click on sigma tel audio-uninstall it>open device manager, click (+) next to sound, video and game controllers>double click sigma tel high def audio codec>click driver tab>click uninstall tab.

Re-boot system, windows will detect and install its version. After it finishes install the driver thru the link i sent you.It should be working afterwards.
