Dell studio 1537 problems

When i bought my laptop few years ago.. I had a windows CD with it.. But they stuck the label of the serial number on the bottom of the laptop and when i needed to use the CD the number was half erased.. What can i do?? Please help me.. My laptop is really slow, in every thing (surfing the net, opening folders ...etc)

You don't need the license key to do the reinstall - for that matter, just use the quick restore (F8 at powerup a few times to get to the "repair" menu).  It'll take you back to where the system was at the time you received it.

Hi Bissan,

Refer to this link for steps to restore the system to factory settings as suggested by ejn69 :

support.dell.com/.../document

If that does not work than you can use the Windows OEM (Original equipment Manufacture)DVD which you got along with the system.If you use the OEM Windows DVD it will not ask for the product key number to activate Windows.
