Docking Station PR01X USB port Drivers

Hello,

I have a D630 and a D531. Both use the same docking station, PR01x. I have been using the docking station lately with the correct 90W power supply and everything has worked great, except for the USB hub. The USB ports do not work and they show up with bangs on the device manager. Other customers have had this problem, but I never saw how the fixed it or if they fixed it. I have installed the Dell Notebook Application, and the Quickset and my BIOS is at the latest version release. I ran slim drivers free and it didn't find the drivers. I also looked it up by VID and PID (shown below) with no luck. Has anyone else found the correct drivers for this docking station?

ACPI\PNP0C15\FFFFFFFE

ACPI\PNP0401\4&2C4C3B2A&0

Thank you for your help.

Hi mprintz,

There are no drivers available for the docking station as they are just an extension to the ports already on the system. It would be better if you update the system drivers for resolving this issue.

Uninstall the USB ports on the device manager. Restart the system and update the Chipset driver of the systems using the links mentioned below:

Latitude D531

NOTE: Select the correct operating system before download the driver.

Hello,

I know that is the response that others received on-line but it doesn't help. I don't understand how the USB ports on the docking station is just an extension of the motherboard. The USB ports only show up when the machine is docked, and the four USB's ports on the laptop itself work on the dock and off the dock. I thought that the dock has a USB hub inside it and even the Audio on the dock is transmitted via usb and then through the port.

I am on the D531 now and I deleted the unknown device bangs and installed the chipset driver from the dell site, rebooted the pc. The bangs are still there.

Thank you for your assistance,

Max

I still have the USB issue. Has anyone else had this issue? Some people said that they did a fresh install while the laptop was docked to fix the problem. I don't want to have to do that.

thanks
