Inspiron 15R i5 Laptop hinge is creaking
Hello!
I own an Inspiron 15R i5 laptop, purchased through my school in Aug. 2011.
When I lift the lid to open the computer, there is a creaking noise. It sounds like it might be on the verge of breaking.
I have taken great care of my computer, never dropped it or damaged it in anyway, always use a padded case when transporting it to school and back and do not move the screen back and forth very much.
Does someone know if this can be fixed or if the warranty covers a new computer?

This could be the issue with the hinges of the system, please provide me the Service tag or the Express Service code of the system in a private message so that I can check the warranty status of the system and help you further.

It can be fixed by replacing the hinge. If the system is under warranty, call Dell for a repair.

I am having the same problem with my Dell Inspiron 5547 laptop (creaking hinges).
