Latitude d630 slow to boot

I just received a Latitude d630 for work and it seems to be taking a while to boot into WinXP in comparison to my coworkers and laptops I’ve used at other companies. When booting, the screen that seems to take the longest displays the msg “Preparing Network Connections”. This is before the login screen appears.

·         booting to safe mode does the same

·         i upgraded the drivers

·         i checked msconfig and nothing unusual  in the startup

·         no unusual services are starting

·         trend micro office scan is not set to scan

·         I’ve upgraded to the latest bios

·         there are no viruses or spyware

Latitude d630, 2GHz Core2 Duo, 3GB sys mem

I can not install Vista or Windows7 since this is a work computer

Any thoughts?
