Lines across XPS 14 Screen L421X
The screen on my Dell XPS 14 L421X has developed a few thin lines across the laptop display. These do not appear when using an external monitor.
Any idea what is causing them or more importantly what I can do to fix them? They look like a line of pixels that runs across the entire screen from one side to the other but is very thin.

Secondary confirmation: Hold the D key through powerup. If those lines appear on the screen built in self test, the display panel needs to be replaced.
On this model, the display itself isn't separately replaceable - you must replace the entire top half of the system as a single assembly. A new part will likely cost close to what a complete, used system would cost -- around $200, plus labor.
