Market share - Dell, HP, Sony, Toshiba, IBM

Who sells more laptops?

Toshiba, Dell, HP/Compaq, Sony, IBM

Does any one have any numbers?

Thanks

One major HP advantage-- Walmart

There were a bunch of articles in the last couple of weeks, with results for the last quarter, and they said that HP has pulled ahead of Dell. They said that Dell was still biggest for home users, but that HP had a lot of corporate sales, and that pushed them over the top, volume-wise.

I don't know where the others fall, but I suspect that it's Toshiba, then IBM, then Sony.

I believe that Dell still leads the pack but HP/Compaq was able to beat Dell for Q4 only last year. Im not really sure yet about the others. Gateway might be strong this year after purchasing EMachines just recently.

I don't know where Toshiba stands, but if I go to any computer reseller, I will find no IBMs (except at an IBM store ), one or two Sonys, two or three HPs and three to five different Toshibas. Of course, Dell has the advantage of having advertising everywhere you look!
