Maximum Memory for Inspiron 1100

Does anyone know the maximum memory the Inspirion 1100 will take?

I see that it has 2 slots and supports 128 to 512 sticks.  Does that mean it will take two 512 sticks also??

The Dell Inspiron 1100 can take a maximum of 1024MB (1GB) of DDR PC2100 RAM in two 512MB DIMM's, just make sure you go through crucial's, assuming you're getting it from crucial (wwww.crucial.com) because they sell it for the cheapest, memory selection steps.

First, if you want to post a question that is unrelated to the original, you should start a new thread.

Second, using the Advanced Forum Search on the left, you'd find this question asked and answered repeatedly.

The I8100 takes 512mb max.  While a 512mb stick has been found to work sometimes, it doesn't change the max of 512mb total.  So, unless you work at a memory company, it's cost prohibitive to buy one 512 instead of two 256s for the I8100.

Yeah, however your computer will be slightly faster, memory wise, if you have more dimms with the same ram amount versus one large dimm because it's quicker for the computer to access it.
