Need to Change Service Tag and Asset Tag in CMOS setup for Latitude E6410
Hi Everybody!
I was wondering if some one knows a utility to change the Service Tag and Asset Tag in CMOS Setup on the Latitude E6410.
Currently we have deployed a few hundreds of these models on the field. The field technician replaces Motherboard from a spare unit but he cannot change the Service Tag or Asset Tag. We need to install the correct Service Tag in CMOS for Inventory purposes and tracking capabilities on the network.. We used to be able to do it with the BIOS CD that comes with new Motherboards.
Does Dell has change the way to change the Service Tags on these specific models?
We cannot boot from any of the older BIOS cds to try the Old Service Tag Utility.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe A.

You must boot from the Dell Tech CD to change service tag.
Asset Tag can be modified with the DELL DCCU
The Dell Client Configuration Utility (DCCU) is an extremely useful tool for managing multiple Dell clients - asset/inventory reporting, configuration management and BIOS updating - when used in conjunction with a software distribution solution. It also is part of Dell''s product set for simple, automated management for maximizing the value of IT infrastructure.
The DCCU can be installed and run on any administrative client or server. No installation is necessary on the systems to be managed. It is designed to leave zero footprint on the managed system. The user simply runs the utility and chooses which of the following functions to perform on the target systems:
1) Configure various SMBIOS, CMOS, and OS settings
2) Review configuration
3) Retrieve asset and inventory information
4) Update BIOS as needed
5) Shutdown/Restart/WOL as needed
