No Audio after disconnected from HDMI

I have a Studio XPS running Vista.  Last night I hooked my laptop up to my TV using the HDMI cable to watch a bluray disk.  Now I have no sound.    When I click on the volume it says I am still hooked up to HDMI device.  Any idea on how to get my sound back?

Try the Function key +F8 to switch back to laptop screen. Make sure the HDMI cable is disconnected.

Hi Mary,

First thanks for the reply.

I tried that and still no sound.  When I click on the volume icon in the bottom right it brings up the volume.  In has digital output device.  It shows green volume levels going up and down but no volume heard.  It is not muted.  My guess is it still thinks I am hooked up to HDMI and is sending volume to my HDMI output.

Hello,

go to control panel, sound, then on the playback tab select speakers as the default device (the select box in on bottom right :-) )
