Screws won't unscrew

I am having problems with two M2.5 x 8-mm screws on the base of my D610 notebook. I am using a #1 Phillips head screw driver to unscrew these screws, but they won't come out. One screw just twirls and twirls but doesn't make any progress, the other screw appears to be stripped. Is there anything that I can do to get these two screws out?
