Windows 8.1 Upgrade Report reveals "not compatible"
In researching what it takes to upgrade my Latitude 5420 to windows 8.1 I found that my Dell Data Protection Encryption 64-bit is not compatible. Other features are not as well. What is the best way to proceed given I'd like to keep the security of encryption. My Pro-service contract is over and I prefer not to renew it.

You'll want to unencrypt the drive before upgrading anyway. If there isn't an update for that encryption program, consider upgrading to 8.1 Pro, which has bitlocker encryption included.
BItlocker is NOT included with 8/8.1 -- you must have Pro or Enterprise.

Thanks for your help. It makes sense and seems to be the easiest way to go.
