XPS 17 disable palm rejection

I went to the synaptics website and downloaded the drivers. Now I can't turn off palm rejection. The synaptics software doesn't have an option to turn it off. I remember I turned it on through the Dell touchpad software utility. How do I download that original software or turn off palm rejection?

I have already tried going to the "mouse" option under control panel and there is no option there for palm rejection.

Hi patfactorx7,

XPS 17 has two variants: XPS L701X and XPS L702X.

You can re-install the drivers from Dell website by following the steps below:

  • Click on the link: http://dell.to/QjjZDA
  • Enter the Service Tag of your system and select the operating system.
  • You will find the touchpad driver under “Input”.
  • Click on the Synaptics touchpad driver.
  • Click on “Download File”.
  • Select “For Single File Download via Browser”.
  • Click on “Download Now”.
  • Save the driver on your desktop.
  • Once the driver is saved on desktop, right click on it and select “Run as administrator”.
  • Install the driver by following the on screen instructions.
  • Restart your computer and see if it makes any difference.

If the issue still persists, you can try the steps below:

  • Click on the touchpad icon in notification area or go to 'Mouse Properties' from 'Control Panel'

  • Navigate to 'Device Settings' tab.

  • Click on 'Settings'.
  • Try changing the touch check and Touch Sensitivity.

  • Save changes and then see if it makes any difference.

Please reply for further clarifications.

Under input I only have 3 available downloads and none of them are for Synaptics drivers. I entered my service code correctly and it correctly identifies my L720X
