clear.fi for a dell?

hello, i have a dell inspiron N5010 15R and i was wondering is the acer's clear.fi will work on my laptop?

i went and downloaded it, and it said that it will work on any computer, as long as it supports DLNA (1.5 it said.)

now, i went and tryed to find if it was, and i couldent find it anywhere in my laptop.

so i went and googled it, "how to find out if your computer supports a DLNA"

and i found that all windows 7 support DLNA.

but, when i go to start the application, it wont work, why?

p.s. the reason for the clear.fi is because my dad has an acer and we have to steam videos and stuff.

Given that it's an Acer utility, it's likely it is tied to their system - and won't work on any other.

DLNA is hardware not just software.

The vendors of software are allowed to claim that their software is a DLNA Technology Component if the software has gone through certification testing on hardware and the hardware has been granted DLNA Certification.

Windows Media Connect and therefore Windows Media Player 11 support DLNA.

Windows Media Player 12 (bundled with Windows 7) supports all DLNA roles.
