coming out of standby and all USB 2.0 stuff in not recognized until unplugged/replugged

My 5150 has a problem with coming out of standby. I have an external USB HD and CDRW drive that are not recognized when coming out of standby. When I do a normal boot or unplug and replug the devices show up no prob. I get the windows pop-up message that a high speed USB device is plugged into a non highspeed usb port. I have tried bios a29 and a33. I cannot find the solution. Any ideas? I have XP pro also

Re: coming out of standby and all USB 2.0 stuff in not recognized until unplugged/replugged

I have the same problem when coming out of standby(xp home), my devices i.e printer-scanner are not recognized. The only way I have to solve the problem is to reboot then everythings fine, its becoming very annoying.  Any suggestions PLEASE      Joe

the hardware is all recognized- it is as if standby will make USB 2.0 ports only read 1.1 ports...
