inspiron 1501 Wireless/controller problems

it crashed, while she was out of town, and her mom tried to reinstall XP, but it didn't work. When I got it, it showed that one of the board controllers was not working, along with about 4 other things, wireless card etc.

I got it to boot up and worked alright (without wireless) but while trying to update everything, I updated the BIOS and now I have no display ... one long and two short beeps.

any ideas on ...

getting the old BIOS installed

and / or fixing controller problem

or should I just get a new mother board ???

Thanks y'all

Bios is one those things that a lot of people would tell you just to leave alone unless you know of a specific change in the new bios that you need to upgrade it for. At this point, if the bios was the last thing you did before you got the error codes, you should probably try to flash it back to the bios rev it had before. Hopefully it will let you do that. The wireless not working was more than likely because the proper driver was not installed for it. I'm not sure what error code one long and two short beeps is for, but hopefully you can get it to boot again.
