network card

model:  inspiron 8600 purchased in 2004.

Broadcom network adapter is history.  is there anyway to get another card to replace it?  do they still make adapters to fit this computer.

also, is it possible to use the wireless card slot on the side of the laptop to insert a card with an rj45 connection?

thanks

hi there

I highly doubt that network adapter would be available now, do you not have a wireless card on the laptop ?

Over the years USB has significantly dominated over other interfaces.

Well if you are fine with wireless then you can try the wireless USB adapters available.

Wireless USB Adapters

You can also try the following USB ethernet adapters for your machine.

Belkin Network Adapter

StarTech Ethernet Adapter

If you really want a card for the laptop, i believe the following is the only one compatible for your system, although u mite have issues with it working.

D-Link CardBus Adapter
