new Studio 15 )1535 eject button doesnt work in vista x64
I'm using vista x64 and after inserting a dvd/cd after some time the eject key will just light up then fade but not eject anything. I have also used the function+F10 to eject with no luck, no noise is even made. I can eject no problem during a reboot and I can hear the noise when pushing the eject button when nothing is in the drive. I do have the latest bios installed as well. All the other buttons work fine without a problem.
is this a known issue in the 64 bit version? I'll run the 32 bit if I have to, but just want to make sure I won't run into the same problem.
I also have noticed that when I start to install an application the eject keys will stop working right away until I restart.

Since the wifi catcher is controlled by quickset, I'd rather have an eject button than the wifi catcher. Good point, though. Hopefully dell will fix this with a newer version of quickset.
Then again, I like the new look, I may not want to go back . . .

I've got the same issue (studio 1535, vista x64, eject doesn't work). Tech support was worthless. They wanted to replace the drive. Good grief.
I uninstalled quickset and that fixed it. I reinstalled quickset and the eject button stopped working again.
For now, I've just got quickset uninstalled and I'm searching for a 3rd party alternative.
Hope this helps.

I just found a replacement for the only part of quickset that I think is useful - the sound level display. Go to microsoft and download the latest version of IntelliType. I selected 'multimedia keyboard' on install, but I don't think it really matters. After installing, I've now got a volume display. I think the screen brightness is kind of obvious, don't know why we would need a meter for that.
Hope this helps.
