white line on screen

After starting up my Latitude today a thin white vertical line now appears across the screen. Re-booted and its still there on top of whatever window is active.

I recently had to re-install XP in an attempt to cure some other weird behavior...when online I couldn't load web pages, constant screen freezing & system crashes. Seemed ok after os re-install and update of video driver. But a few days later this new glitch.

Any suggestions welcomed...
