Find Unused Luns on solaris running MPIO and Veritas
How can i find specific unused V-Max LUNs(that are freed to reclaim) on solaris host with Vertias and MPIO?
I have inq installed on the host. No Powerpath.
And how to decode the LUN # from the following? I am assuming "010d" in this case is the LUN ID.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DEVICE :VEND :PROD :REV :SER NUM :CAP(kb)

/dev/rdsk/c4t6000097000aaa260yyyyxxxxzzz13044d0s2 :EMC :SYMMETRIX :5874 :SS0010d000 : 209879040

thanks dynamox. I will try the -sym_wwn command.
This is the scenario i am in.
I have about 40 Luns on the host. I have about 10 luns that were freed from a filesystem. i need to reclaim those 10 Luns. so, I have to identify those specific 10 luns out fo the 40 luns on the host.
INQ gives me all the luns list. Is there a way i can find the unused 10 luns? or do i have to compare the "inq" output with "VXdisk list" output and identify that are not part of the "VXdisk list" output?

not sure about Veritas but for inq , pass parameter -sym_wwn which will give you device #
