Large files created after executing EMC grabs for ESXi

Hi All,

After executing EMC grabs for ESXi a large files created, some are 900 MB.

Is there any way to make the output file equal to or less than 500MB ?

ElabAdvisor will not accept files greater than 500MB.

I expect much of the data is logs, which Elab will not be interested in.

Check the contents of .../var/run/log Is it large?

Try removing some of the historical logs in  order to make the extraction smaller.

Hi,

When you collect ESXigrab with -vmsupport option, the vmsupport bundle can take a lot of space indeed - if you only want to run the grab through Elab Advisor, try to rerun it without this option.

We re-run the grabs without -vmsupport option and file size decreased dramatically.

before I had files with  700MB and 900MB then after removing -vmsupport option files became 1MB and 700KB.

I hope that all information needed from ElabAdvisor and ATLAS are included in these small files!
