Compute froze, now stuck on black screen with Dell logo

Was gaming when everything froze. Waited about 5 minutes then restarted the PC. Now upon restart it makes it to one screen, the black screen with a Dell logo. Sometimes I get a ‘preparing Automatic Repair’ message but nothing happens. Can anybody explain what’s going on?

Re: Compute froze, now stuck on black screen with Dell logo

Thank you for your message.

What specific Dell Inspiron desktop model?

Was there any recent Windows update that was downloaded, or any new software installed?

What happens if you let the screen complete the repair? Does the system loop back into the same screen with the automatic repair?

There are chances that the OS may be corrupt.

Run a hardware diagnostic by following the video on this link http://bit.ly/2fJuGXB  & check if there is any error.

Drive is corrupted and possibly physically bad.  Time for a new drive and clean install from scratch.
