Dell update in Windows 11

I've got the latest build 22000.120 of Windows 11 installed and operating perfectly on an Inspiron 27 7700 AIO.

However for some reason, the Dell Update feature will not load. It hangs for sometime and then disappears. The icon stays in the tray but literally is inoperable. Any clues anyone?

According to Dell: "...the Windows 11 Insider Build is not a supported operating system."

So not surprising their software doesn't run...

Best guess is that since Windows 11 is still in Beta, the Dell app is not fully compatible. Once RTM is released you will see updates in Dell apps. Remember that Windows 11 is not 100% stable yet and has a number of bugs that have to be addressed.

However you can repost this in the Windows 11 forum here in case other users have seen the same problem and have seen a workaround.

I'm thinking that you're absolutely correct. I'll see how we go as the RTM version comes out. Meanwhile, I've done what you suggested and posted it in the Windows 11 forum. Thanks heaps.

Yes I have Support Assist installed, but checked it was the latest by downloading the .exe file and reinstalling - it told me the latest version was already installed.

If I go to Update Drivers in my account, it baulks with an error. So I think the "solution" above details the problem.

@adamgosp  - If you want to pursue this, use Revo Uninstaller (free) to uninstall SupportAssist and Dell Update. Be sure to delete all "leftovers" that Revo lists in bold for each app as you work through the Revo screens. (Do not delete anything marked in red on those screens.)

Then manually download and install these apps again from the Support page.  They still may not run because it's a Win 11 Insider Build which isn't supported...

Thanks Ron but as previously I still suspect it's a temporary incompatibility because the RTM hasn't been finalised.
