Inspiron 3650, added video card, no onboard HDMI usage
I have an Inspiron 3650 that came with the standard integrated video on the motherboard. My monitor was connected to my PC via a standard VGA cable. The PC also has an HDMI output port on the back that I use to send video and audio to a separate HD TV. Recently, I purchased a video card for my PC, which my monitor is now connected to via a DP cable. Because the video card now controls the video output of my PC, the HDMI cable from my PC to my TV no longer sends a signal to the TV. How do I get that HDMI port functionality back to use with my TV without having to remove the video card? Obviously I can't connect the TV HDMI cable to my video card because then there would be no sound.

Solved. After doing more research I found out the answer was to go into the system BIOS and enable the Intel multi-display feature, which is defaulted to disabled. I saved the configuration changes and restarted my PC. Once back in Windows 10, I went into Display Settings and now there were two displays detected, in this case my monitor and my TV. In Display Settings I was able to make my monitor (connected directly to my new video card) my primary display and my TV (connected to the HDMI port on my PC) my secondary display. From there you can also choose to have the two displays operate independently or have one repeat the other. I also figured out how to have the audio play simultaneously on both my computer speakers and my TV speakers, but that is another topic. So yes you can have your video card and integrated video work simultaneously as long as you enable the multi-display feature in the system BIOS.
