Just to add some data to fireberd response, below is the Dell validated 8GB OEM memory stick for the Inspiron 3650 Desktop. Just search Google for the Dell 5 digit part number or call Dell Spare Parts 1-800-357-3355 and ask for price and availability.

VR648 8GB, 1600MHz, 2RX8, DDR3L, 512x8, 240 Pin, Dual Rank, Unbuffered, 1.35v, Non-ECC

Memory should only be installed in (identical) pairs and of the same brand.  Adding a second memory module, not the same brand or spec's can (and usually does) result in problems.  This applies to all PC's, not just a Dell.

Spec's from the Dell manual:

Memory
Slot Two UDIMM slots Type Dual‑channel DDR3L Speed 1600 MHz Configurations supported 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, 12 GB, and 16 GB

I know this is a very old post, But I'd like to know if it's possible to upgrade my Inspiron 3650 to 32 GB of RAM.  If so, I assume 2 - 16GB memory sticks, but what memory sticks will work?  Thanks!
