Inspiron 530 - possible to create recovery disc set?
I have an Inspiron 530 running Vista. I’m able to do a factory restore by pressing F8 at startup but can’t find anything that creates a set of recovery discs (to use in case the hard drive fails). Is that possible on this machine?

The Dell Backup and Recovery and the Dell DataSafe software are End of Life End of Support as is Vista. Cloning the drive after installing Aoemi One Key will give you a 2nd recovery option.
The software suggested is free.
Dell Datasafe and Dell Backup and Recovery are End of Life , End of support. There are no updates and the online portion of the backup is over. This has been the case for several years now.
Dell Backup and Recovery Cloud Storage ended on June 1, 2016
The Dell Backup and Recovery Application is End of Life End of support.
Note: The Dell Backup and Recovery Cloud service has ended, and no new subscriptions are being accepted.
Another one would be Macrium Reflect Free Edition

Thanks. Before I cloned it, I wanted to make sure they wasn’t a disc creation utility that I was missing.

No. I would suggest getting a Drive Wire and Cloning the Drive.

Aoemi One Key backup is a good way to go.Windows 10, Windows 8.1/8, Windows 7, Vista and XP. It enables you to easily create a factory recovery partition, which can be used to restore your computer to its factory default settings or a previous backed up state by pressing "F11" (default) or "A" key during computer startup.

On the Win7 systems I’ve seen with DataSafe, there are options to restore from a recovery partition or make a set of recovery discs. Since F8 at boot brings up a factory recovery option on this 530 that’s labeled as DataSafe, I was hoping I had missed the disc creation utility option, but I guess that’s not something the Vista version offered. Thanks for the info.
