Inspiron 5348 AIO, driver update problems

I have a 5348 All-In-One 23" touchscreen, Win 8.1, that started getting BSOD's whenever  it sat idle for more than 10-15 minutes.

This started just after the February Microsoft auto-update.

Found out part of the problem was outdated drivers.

I tried to install the chipset driver, but it failed to copy a file.

This is what the failed report stated:

Does anybody know how I can fix this?

Any help would be very appreciated... ed

The failure is due to malware masquerading as chip-set drivers.

You can get that specific driver from INTEL without malware attached.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23061/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-for-Intel-Desktop-Boards

HOWEVER if you are already infected it may not install due to the downloaded file becoming infected after launch.

The latest chipset for your old computer is 5 yrs old and you probably already have it or don't need it. Chipset drivers do not get updated. The original chipset driver is for your exact motherboard so you must keep it. Those drivers at the download site are listed for reinstallation of the operating system and must be done in the proper order--chipset first. You could brick your computer by forcing the install.

The problem with Feb update mostly likely had nothing to do with drivers. It might be because you are running windows 8.
