Inspiron 537s, Dual monitors

I want to set up two monitors, but apparently I need to add a graphics card. Running a Dell Inspiron 537s, Windows 10 O/S 64 bit. I tried setting this up with a VGA splitter, all it does is allow the same window on each monitor. Guess what I'm asking is which graphics card would I need to install?

Thanks, Ron

Well thanks for your concern. The computer runs just fine.

Your 10 year old Windows 7 model has a tiny power supply of 250w so none of today's cards would work. Save the money for a new computer. It is surprising that Win 10 even works on it. You might be running into some problems with each windows update in the future.

You will need to use a legacy card and Legacy Drivers.

Other than that there are no issues.

Annoying but you also need 2 Adapters for VGA monitors.

The OEM Driver for this card is

Windows 10 drivers for this do not exist.  That doesn't mean its not working just that you must use windows 7 drivers.

speedstep not sure I follow this, are you saying I blew my money on useless stuff that the Dell drivers will not work with? Guess I'm getting older than dirt now. I'm blind in one eye and can't see out of the other one.

There are no issues with that card.  It definitely works fine.

Drivers for it must be OEM dell because ATI doesn't support that anymore as its legacy.

The older Legacy cards work fine with all versions of windows.

The OEM drivers must be used because these cards are LEGACY status now.

Other than that there are no issues.

Thanks Speedstep, I'll follow this.

I like your profile. You have all the knowledge of computers and I have none. I am happy we have folks like yourself helping us older guys out..

I am 81 not sure how old you are, but older than dirt is old!
