Inspiron 5459 AIO CPU Compatability
I have a 24-5459 AIO with a 6400t, and I was looking at upgrading it to make it more usable, it is fully up to date as of 5/19/22 with a bios version of 2.14.1
I know that this will support the 6700t processor, but have not found anything definitive on whether it will support the 7700t processor.
I know that the H110 chipset works with 7th gen processors, and that the primary compatibility issue is likely to lie with the bios.
Does anyone know whether or not the i7-7700t is supported?
Or know a bios version I could flash it to so that it is supported?

Hello, I have a Dell inspiron 24 5459 with an Intel I5 6500t 2.2 Ghz. I recently upgraded my processor to an Intel I7 6700 3.40-4.00GHz. My computer is so much more stable, and faster. I also cloned my harddrive to an SSD drive, and replaced the mechanical hard drive. I haven't had any problems so far. The only downside is at times if the computer is under heat load you will hear the fan ramp up. I didn't have to replace my 90watt power supply cord. I am able to run virtual machines again, and if you turn on TPM in bios you can then upgrade to Windows 11. You'll get a TPM message when loading your computer, but just hit escape. I'm not sure about the 7700. Hope this helps.

@CSM1204 Hello and thank you for this information. I am currently trying to upgrade the processor on an Inspiron 24 AIO 5459 as well. It came with an i-3. I wondered if you could confirm the model number of the i-7 chip that you used. I have found several on line with this model number. INTEL SR2L2 i7-6700 3.40 GHz . Would the SR2L2 be the same version you used?
Thank you in advance, Al
