15 7559 Keyboard Problem & Charger Damage
The last couple of weeks my laptop keyboard has been not working properly. You have to press some keys multiple times to get it to actually type, and when it does, it sometimes types that character 2-4 times.
I have confirmed it is NOT a driver issue (don't even try to suggest drivers or reinstalling the OS). It happens on Windows 10 & multiple Linux distros. The two ribbon cables and their connector appear undamaged. The backlight is fine for the affected keys. BIOS is 1.3.1.
Sweeping the keys (without attempting to get a key to work again) I get the following:
`1230-
qwerttiop]
asdfghjkl;#
\zxcvbn
When I should get:
`1234567890-=
qwertyuiop[]
asdfghjkl;'#
\zxcvbnm,./
Keys either have to be pressed again or struck hard to work.
Additionally the charger cable shorted after I noticed the wires have become exposed due to the poorly designed charge light. Is my only option the overpriced £72.67 (down from £112.21, you shouldn't have(!)) 450-19105 from dell.com/en-uk/shop or some "GENUINE" "DELL" "OFFICIAL" "ORIGINAL" probable Chinese knock off hazard from the internet?
