Re: Active pen for inspiron 7000 17" 7773 2in1

Look at the price of a 16" pressure sensitive panel:

https://www.amazon.com/Wacom-DTH1620K0-Cintiq-Graphic-Tablet/dp/B06VSTT8J8

Then look at the price of an Insprion 7773

http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/inspiron-17-7000-2-in-1/spd/inspiron-17-7773-2-in-1-lapt...

Subtract the cost of the panel from the Inspiron, add the two together and you'd have the cost of a pressure-sensitive 17" notebook -- or about $2,400.

That's why there aren't any pressure sensitive 17" notebooks on the market - they'd cost so much, few would buy them.

I was duped by the same Best Buy deception.  VERY disappointed.

Price comparison between Cintiq tablet and Inspiron 17" 2-in-1 notebook does not apply. This tablet has a 15.6" screen for 1,500USD, and the old Inspiron 7568 2-in-1 had the same screen size (15.6") and was active pen enabled for 1000USD or below. The price of Cintiq is high because of its 4K resolution and color gamut.

Re: Active pen for inspiron 7000 17" 7773 2in1

Well  I bought one on my own with the erroneous advertising that came with it. Now what do I do with a pen that is never going to work with the laptop I ordered from you guys support.

Matter of fact considering the smooth operation that the digitizer gives what should I do with a 1200.00 laptop that will not perform as stated?

I have an option for you send me an RMA or a pen that works free and I will send you yours back!

Which Pen did you purchase?  The PN579X has an option to change the configuration so it will work on either type of system, assuming it is capable of using an active pen.  The 7573 does seem to be compatible but I saw no indication the 7773 was.  I use one of the capacitive touch pens with my 7779.

When I purchased my 7779 there were no Inspirons using an Active PEN.  Now, certain ones do but the sticker requirement is a little odd.  There needs to be something more definitive than having a sticker or not.

Your video shows the 13 inch and 15 inch use a pen with the MPP configuration but no verification the 17 inch uses the Active Pen.
