Battery health status : Communication error
I have a dell inspiron 13 7000. I recently changed the battery because the previous battery bulged. But once I plugged in the new battery the orange light keeps blinking and the charge stays at 0%. I have tried updating the bios, updating the drivers. To update the bios i needed to have at least 15% charge so I used my old bulged battery. It worked perfectly but my laptop is not detecting the new battery. In the bios setup the adapter shows 45 W but battery health is given as "Communication error". Can I do something to be able to use the battery?

Welcome to the Dell Community @killua1zoldyck
I recently received 10 Dell 7404's.
All with " 0 " hours of usage and all have their original Dell OEM batteries installed.
I went into the BIOS and looked at the battery status there.
7 out of 10 would start to charge and then flash the "Communication error" then start to charge again and then flash the "Communication error".
Like you I updated the BIOS with no change.
The battery is bad try to get a refund or replacement.
Best regards,
U2

If the original battery was still recognized, but this one isn't, have its vendor replace it under warranty.
If neither battery is recognized, that suggests a mainboard problem rather than a battery problem.

Dell OEM battery, or third party?

I think it's OEM.
