Yes, you can remove laptop battery & use it by plug-in to electric socket. But your laptop will shut down instantly in case of power failure. Good Battery provide us good power backup. If battery is not in working condition then you can remove it & use usual power supply. I recommend you to use laptop on battery because often instant shut down can cause failure of RAM, Motherboard & all important components.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Madhan11

Yes you can run the laptop as a desktop without the battery connected or installed.

If you are having "Swollen Battery" issues then remove the battery immediately!!!

I fail to understand why in the world Dell of all companies would allow a battery that can and  will get swollen to be part of their laptops???

it is not a question of if the battery will become swollen, it is only a matter of time. I've replaced 2 batteries on my laptop and about to do it again, because I can see the case is being pushed up!

Where did the quality go???

Not only Dell.

You can add all laptop manufacturers that use this type of battery.

I would say Apple is the worst.

That's a shame, the state of these battery looks extremely dangerous...

I want to run my Inspiron 15 7559 without charging the battery but plugged into the power.  When it gets to 100% I want to stop charging so it will extend the life of the battery.  Right now I am unplugging the charger/AC power when the battery gets to 100% and then plugging it back in when it gets down to 5% and shuts down.  This is a pain.  For this laptop, you have to take off the back and remove some screws to remove the battery which is not like others that just require moving a locking slider and popping the battery out. There is no turn off charging switch that I can find such as FN+F2

There is no need to remove the battery at all. Just plug in the charger to recharge when it gets down to about 15-20%. You can set an alarm in battery settings to warn you. No need to wait until it turns off. In fact you should not let it turn off.
