Dell G15 5520 のメモリ増設について
I purchased a memory called KF548S38IBK2-32 to expand the memory of Dell G15 5520 from 8GBx2 to 16GBx2 .
This memory has been determined to work because it meets the memory requirements in the Dell G15 5520 specifications below.
However, when I actually replaced the memory, I couldn't use it because I couldn't proceed from the black screen when the PC started. His original 8GBx2 memory works fine, so it's not a memory slot failure.
I thought it might be the initial failure of the memory, so I returned it, but upon closer inspection, I found a comment saying that this memory cannot be used in Dell laptops.

According to the above comment, DELL's 12th generation (CPU?) laptops do not support ECC memory. If so, I should have bought KVR48S40BS8K2-32 which is Non-ECC memory .
Does Dell G15 5520 motherboard not support ECC?
Also, where can I check it?

DDR5 has on-die ECC which is different from the conventional ECC memory.
Usually, consumer notebook doesn't support ECC memory at the system side. They are for servers. I have not seen any consumer products supporting ECC memory in my life. Having said that, the memory module you are talking about have ECC feature on-die (DDR5 memory feature). The memory interface should be compatible with non-ECC memory, I assume.
The kingston website has the list of the compatibility system which Dell product is not on.

I've been building PCs and replacing memory so many times and sometimes certain memory modules just didn't work at all with a specific systems as amazon.com reviews tell.
Ifpossible, i seek the refund and buy another set of DDR5 memory.

I understand KF548S38IBK2-32 is Non-ECC memory, but why didn't it work?
I bought KVR48S40BS8K2-32 and it works! Of course Dell products are not listed.

Finding appropriate memory is really painful because documents of both Dell and memory manufacturer are not helpful.
