Dell G15 Ryzen edition boot from usb to reinstall windows

Does anyone know the correct bios settings to get a g15 to boot from a usb flash drive so I can reinstall windows.  So far regardless of what I try no usb drive will show in the boot options.

resetting the bios to optimized defaults, the boot drive is now showing.

sorry i should have stated its not showing up in the f12 boot menu.  And i am using drives created using the MediaCreationTool.  I deal with new dell optiplex and latiudes daily and have never had an issue, but i thought maybe something was buried in this ones bios settings.

You do not enter the flash drive in the boot sequence.  Plug it in, power up the system and press F12 a few times.

The boot menu that appears will have the flash drive listed if there's a UEFI-bootable OS on it -- choose that and the system will boot from the flash drive.
