Dell Support Assist showed that I had 2 updates pending. Chipset & BIOS. I clicked install but after a restart, I am still on BIOS 1.5.1 And the Chipset is no longer showing update pending. I manually downloaed the BIOS file from Dell and it does nothing when I click on it.
Many restarts, all apps closed.
To manually update your BIOS you would have to run it from within your BIOS there is a tab for doing this at least there was for my Inspiron 13 7396. I always update BIOS's this way as updating from windows is risky at least has shown its self as being risky in the past Bricking Many notebooks.
Thank you for your message. Please check if the BIOS version in Windows & in the BIOS screen matches.
Download BIOS from Support Site & update BIOS in elevated mode (admin rights)
What is the version of Dell Support Assist application installed?
