Dell G7 15 7500 Random Annoying Screen Flickering
Hello everyone, I am Benj and I just bought this laptop on July 17th.
I started experiencing this random, annoying screen flickering when I used the laptop on the 2nd day which first I thought was due to it downloading and installing all the Windows and Dell updates.
Due to my slow internet connection, all the available updates (except the buggy Alienware Command Center update) were successfully installed on July 28th. I thought the screen flickering will be fixed by then but after I restarted the laptop, random, annoying screen flickering just persisted.
I have ran multiple Dell diagnostic tests and the results kept on yielding passing remarks.
I have tried all the recommended fixes from various websites and fora like disabling Dell's adaptive power setting, changing screen resolutions, updating the vga driver etc. but the random screen flickering persists (and I am actually experiencing it while I am typing this thread)
There were at least three occasions that the screen flickering turned the screen gray or off and the laptop became unresponsive. I had to wait for at least 30 mins to be able to turn it on again.
It is worth to note that I have not installed any hardcore game or MS Office or activated my Windows 10 home yet. So far. I have only installed Chrome and free editions of CCleaner, Adobe Acrobat DC, VLC Media Player, Spywareblaster, SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes. So incompatible third-party programs are unlikely.
I have done multiple scans for possible virus or malwares but the results were all negative.
I am thinking that the problem is not on the software side anymore. May be this is a defective hardware problem already? Can any of you provide a workable fix on this one before I use my Dell's warranty? Thank you.

I think you should grab your laptop for waranty. Dell's waranty service is awsome!

I would suggest you to run the LCD Diagnostics on your laptop.
To run the Built-In Self-Test perform the following:
Turn the computer off.
Press and hold the D key while pressing the power button. This will start the BIST.
The screen will display multiple flashing colors. Look for lines, distortion, flickering or any other video issues you have observed.
The laptop will restart when the test is finished.
Also, connect an external monitor to your laptop and check if the external display also flickers.
Let me know the results after performing the above mentioned troubleshooting steps, I would be happy to help you further.
