Dell Inspiron 15 7548 No Display
Hoping I can find some help here. This happened about a year ago, but life came up so I didn't really mess around with it until now.
Basically, my laptop was working fine, and then suddenly I get no display.
Now when I power on I get no display all of the time (even when I hook it up to an external display), but the system seems to power on. The HDD worked fine when I removed it and connected to another computer. Here is what I have tried so far, with no luck.
Check display to make sure it is working, display passes display check.
Cleaned RAM, tried each stick in each slot. No changes.
Disconnected battery and drained system to try to reset everything. No Change.
I am not sure if there were any updates just prior, but there was nothing I recall seeing.
I feel like this is a BIOS or display driver issue. What would the process be for reinstalling the BIOS to hopefully at least get that far?
Thanks for you help!
Matt

You tried an ext monitor, so it's probably a failed video card that is integrated which cannot be replaced without replacing the motherboard. Bios would not cause a failed display. It is not worth it to replace the board on a 4 yr old laptop.
