Dell Inspiron N5110 Touchpad Issue

Hello, I'm having a bit of an issue with my Inspiron's touchpad. The system acts as if no mouse is present and it does not work at all, and shows up in Device Manager with a caution symbol when I choose to show hidden devices as "Dell Touchpad". I've installed the latest drivers, and checked the ribbon cable. I have no idea what the issue would be, possibly a driver conflict of sorts? It was previously working but just decided to stop working at one point.

Have you checked your touchpad settings?

START >> Type: Touchpad >> Select "Touchpad Settings" (System Settings)

Scroll through and see if any of your touchpad settings have inadvertently been changed.

I would do that but it doesn't even appear as an option in Settings. Additionally, no search results come up when I use the search bar for the Touchpad.
