G15 5511, F9 Game shift button maxes performance on battery?

I was wondering if the F9 game shift button maxes out the performance even on battery? As you all already know the laptop will run on iGPU rather then on eGPU when I play a game. So does the game shift makes any difference on battery mode? Will my game utilize eGPU on game shift mode?
