Hardware issues

While working on my laptop, everything seemed normal. Then, it turned off and now says the hard drive can not be detected. How is that possible and what can I do?

Start with the Dell diagnostics, which will test the drive.  F12 at powerup.

If you need further help, please post the full model number (i.e., Inspiron N5110, 5531, etc.) and any errors you see by number (2000-0151, etc.).

You were able to run the diagnostic tool (or ePSA Pre-boot System Assessment tests) to test the hard drive?
