yeshu151,

Below are the memory specs for the system. If your system has onboard graphics you cannot upgrade the card. If you have the discrete card you can add a PCI-E Gen1 2.5 Gbps card.

Memory module connectors two user-accessible SODIMM connectors
Memory module capacities 1 GB, 2 GB and 4 GB
Possible Memory Configurations 2 GB, 3 GB, 4 GB, 5GB, 6 GB and 8 GB
Memory type DDR3 1333 MHz SODIMM
Minimum memory 2 GB
Maximum memory 8 GB

Umm, what?  This is a laptop, and it is absolutely not the case that any discrete card that supports PCIe Gen1 would work in this system.  Laptop discrete graphics cards are not standardized the way desktop graphics cards are, in fact some "discrete" graphics solutions these days are soldered directly onto the motherboard.  But even when that's not the case, laptop discrete cards have used a variety of connectors and physical sizes, and they also have vastly different thermal outputs which means that they can only be used in systems that have adequate cooling for the card being used.

No.  This model takes a max of 2X4 G -- or 8 total.  It won't support 8G soDIMMs.

Hi @DELL-Jesse L ,

I have a spare 8GB PC3L - 12800S RAM. Can I use it in my Dell N5010 as my existing RAM is not working.

Thanks in advance.

It may or may not work - it's just not a supported configuration.
