Re: Inspiron 13 (7373, at least) will definitely charge from

Hello to everybody,

I hope to be helpful giving this information. I have tested with full success the Aukey charger https://www.aukey.com/products/amp-usb-c-wall-charger-with-power-delivery-3-0-pa-y10.

This charger is recognized correctly from Inspiron 7373 and can charge without warning and in fast way.

Inspiron 13 (7378) also charges w/ USB-C PD charger

Just wanted to point out that the Intel 7th generation processor version of this laptop (Inspiron 13 7378) is also able to charge via USB-C. I am using a Nekteck USB Type C Wall Charger with Power Delivery (PD) purchased from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0719KV9PH

I have updated the BIOS to the latest 1.25 version available before testing. Dell Diagnostics detects it as a 45W adapter. Pretty nice to have a charger that works with my Pixel 2 XL phone and laptop as well. 😃

The system BIOS is for multiply models could that mean all model should support charging via USB-C?

I can confirm that the usb c port charges for Inspiron 7573. I borrowed a friend's ThinkPad usb c charger and had no issues charging my Inspiron.

Re: Inspiron 13 (7373, at least) will definitely charge from

fyi just tested today by chance the following dock:

HP Elite USB-C Docking Station Product Number T3V74UT

Specs of the Dock are:

Standalone power requirements
Normal Operating Voltage: 19.5V
Average Operating Power: 55 W
Max Operating Power: 62 W

When I reboot Dell BIOS tell me:

Product Name Inspiron 7573
System BIOS: 1.8.0
Service Tag: zzzzzzzz
ePSA: Build 4306.13 UEFI ROM

Alert! You have attached an undersized 40W power adapter to your system,
which is less than the recommended 45W power adapter. To continue operating
at peak performance, your system may also draw power from the battery. The
battery charges only when the power provided by the adapter is greater than the
needs of your system. Use a Dell 45W (or greater) power adapter to enable
charging during peak system performance.

Note: This warning can be disabled in BIOS setup.

So what happen it I very slowly lose battery like 1% over a day or less.

Re: Inspiron 13 (7373, at least) will definitely charge from

If you’re referring to the WD15 dock and you have a 130W power supply connected to the dock, then the WD15 can send up to 90W to the attached system. That’s more than enough for a 13-inch Inspiron system.

Re: Inspiron 13 (7373, at least) will definitely charge from

Iv'e been using 45w USB-C Power Adapter (Model: MSH-PD45W) with my Dell Inspiron 7373 with no issues or alarms. Dell recognizes it, and display the time to full charge.

The adapter has two ports. A USB Type-C that I use to charge my laptop and a USB-A I use to charge my phone and tablet.

So it`s much better to carry than two OEM`s chargers.

I bought at Amazon for $23.99

I don't know why Dell doesn't put this information on the manual.
