Inspiron 14 7460

The hardrive failed on my Inspiron 14 7460 last week and I have tried to install an SSD in the spare m.2 slot. The tech sheet says I have met all the requirements so the hardware is compatible.

The problem I am encountering is when following the dell os recovery tool... I select the bootable usb, go to advanced troubleshoot and then I am supposed to click on 'Recover from disk'... but the option doesn't exist.

  1. Connect the USB recovery media that you created to the Dell PC where you want to install Microsoft Windows.
  2. Restart the PC and when the Dell logo appears, tap F12 key until you see Preparing one time boot menu in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. On the boot menu, select the USB drive and press Enter.
  4. On the Choose an option screen, click Troubleshoot, and then click Recover from a drive.

Can anyone help me please? I am desperate to get my laptop running for work...
