Inspiron 14z 5423 stuck on BIOS update
Hello,
As recommended by Dell to update from A13 to A14 BIOS version on my PC (Inspiron 5423) with windows 10, 64 bit, I downloaded A14 from Dell drivers section and after saving I make it run to update/upgrade the BIOS. But as I clicked the run, my PC got stuck completely at that screen. I tried many keys to minimize, ctrl alt delete but nothing happens and it was stuck for about one hour.
After one hour I just made it by force by pressing the power button as the process was stuck. I repeated the to update the BIOS to A14 about 6 to 7 times on different days but I faced the same issue.
Also after making it off when I go to switch it on again, it is not starting on. I just pressed the power button and it just blinked with the other 3 buttons on right side for less than a second and very strange to see that it is automatically trying again and again to boot but fails each time. Then I pressed the power button for long time and that process ended.
I removed the RAM and put back and pushed the reset button also. Now I pressed the power button and this time power button and 3 buttons on right blinked for a second and then went off and again the power button become on after 3 or 4 second withe the other 3 on right. Then the 3 buttons goes off and the power button is on continuously but the screen is black. But after some 3 or 4 minutes the windows started.
This is happening to my PC after the proposed update try by Dell. Please guide me to get rid of this problem as Dell recommended to install this new version of BIOS. my system is no more in warranty.
Thanks
Khan

Two options:
1. Find a shop that can un-solder the BIOS chip, flash it externally and re-solder it, or
2. Replace the system board.
The second option is likely the less expensive one.

@IMK
I am having the same problem. After I started the installing of the BIOS update, the PC shutter down and do not turn on or respond, only the power light turns on. I am going to the customer protection service in my country. I do not believe that after doing everything I was told to do by them to do to fix my problem, my PC do not turn on anymore.
I tried everything in this post and nothing, even the reset button in the back, the one you need a paper clip to press.

You must hold down Esc and right Ctrl keys and then press the power button without releasing the mentioned keys. This solved the problem for me.
