Inspiron 5558 ssd

Hey I wanna know... I wanna change my HDD TO SSD...BUT the problem is Hdd contains a large storage...while SSD DOESN'T.. I've HDD 1tb...while Ssd would be 250 gb approx. Can I put SSD IN PLACE OF HHD.. & CHANGE DVD TO HDD.. SO IS IT NECESSARY HDD & SSD SHOULD BE SAME COMPANY PRODUCT.

You can easily install a 2.5" SATA SSD or 1T or larger capacity (in fact it makes no economic sense to go much smaller than that, since the cost per gigabyte is much higher with lower capacity drives).

Any caddy you use to replace the optical drive will be third party -- these are not Dell or Dell-supported.  Some work, others don't -- buy based on reviews of actual users.

It is not necessary to use drives from the same manufacturer.
