Mouse/Keyboard input overlap issue

So the issue is that when I try to use either the mouse or keyboard, using the other shorts it out. Such as if I was in a game and changing POV with the mouse, using the arrow keys would stop the mouse movement. Similarly, when I'm typing, if I move the mouse, it stops the typing.

Is there a way to fix this? Where the mouse/keyboard inputs overlap and stall each other?

I have a dell inspiron 15 3000

Have you tried using an external keyboard or mouse to see if the issue persists?

I'm now having the same issue with my Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptop. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm in a game or not! Please help!
